Nearly every day lately your friend/crush goes over to either Poland’s or sometimes America’s house, a point that makes you jealous. Since he’s been spending so much time there, the time he spends with you is almost nonexistent. Of course you knew that he goes over to America’s house to help out and that Poland is his good friend, but weren’t you his friend too?
You
stood right in front of Lithuania’s home, thinking about knocking on
the door but not doing anything. Before you had come you had received a
voice message from the country himself asking if you wanted to come
over. Just the thought of finally getting to spend some time with your
crush made you feel ecstatic.
Taking
out a small mirror from one of your pockets, you double check your
(h/c) hair to make sure there weren’t any clumps sticking out in strange
ways. Now you aren’t a vain person, but this is your crush your meeting
with. Of course you would want to look your best in front of them!
Discovering that there weren’t any clumps, you smiled at your
reflection. You slip the mirror back into your pocket and prepare
yourself to ring the doorbell.
“It’s
a little strange that he would invite me over so abruptly, I wonder if
something happened.” Taking a deep breath, you press in the button next
to the door, vaguely hearing musical notes from within. The doorbell
music at Lithuania’s wasn’t like any others. Instead of being
excruciatingly loud and obnoxious, his was loud enough to notify the
presence of someone at the door and a sound that one never got tired of
hearing.
A
couple of minutes had passed without anyone opening the door. You tried
the ringing the doorbell another two times before coming to the
conclusion that Lithuania wasn’t home. Your happy expression fell, now
becoming a sad one, as depressing thoughts clouded your mind. Did he
really not want to see you? Were his other friends so much more
important that he would forget about you?
“That
can’t be . . .” You didn’t want to believe your thoughts, but the
longer you waited for Lithuania to answer the door, the harder it was to
suppress these thoughts. Suddenly a completely different thought
occurred to you.
‘What if it’s not that he isn’t coming to the door but more that he can’t?’ This single thought lifted your spirits back up. Yeah, that has to be it!
With
your mindset having gotten better, and avoiding a complete meltdown,
you proceed in trying to turn the door handle to see if it was unlocked.
You pressed down on it and were surprised at how easily it went.
“That’s weird, the door’s not locked, which must mean he’s still here!”
Slowly and as quietly as possible, you opened the door and stepped into
the countries home. “Pardon the intrusion.”
Once
inside, you noticed that it was abnormally silent, no soft voices or
natural homey noises that were present when entering Lithuania’s house
in the past. You couldn’t tell where the country could be at that
moment. So, with no clue where to begin, you walk into the nearest room.
“I
feel so much like Belarus right now . . .” You mumble to yourself as
you stick your head into the room before entering. “Just less . . .
vigorous? Or maybe the right word would be extreme haha . . .” Checking
the room out, which happened to be the living room, you figure he wasn’t
in there. “Maybe he’s in the next room.”
This
process was repeated with several more rooms until you ended up in the
kitchen. The counters were all sparkly clean and all utensils were
placed in their correct locations. Everything just screamed ‘organized’.
Which meant that one, Lithuania wasn’t in there currently, and two, he
hadn’t gone in there at all that day. If he had then there would have
been some sign or maybe even a mess of some sort.
“Gosh
this is getting hard, where on earth is he?” You scope the room one
more time, (e/c) eyes narrowing as you grumble quietly to yourself.
“Well this is the last room on the first floor; he’s probably on the
second then.” Just as you begin heading in the direction of the stair,
you feel your phone vibrate in your jean pocket. “Huh? Who could that
be?”
You
fish out your phone and swiftly enter the pass code to unlock it. The
first thing that pops up is a message box stating that you had received a
new text from Lithuania. Your first reaction to the notice was
surprise, which transformed into confusion. To help shed some light on
this situation, you opened up the text.
(y/n),
I’m sorry but something urgent came up and I’m currently on my way to
America’s home. I’ll have to cancel our meet up today. Again, I
apologize for any inconveniences I have caused with this sudden change
in plans.
Atleiskite.
Lithuania
Staring
at the words on the screen, you couldn’t believe your eyes. Did he
literally just stand you up? At first you wanted to press replay and
send him a very angry text on how you were already at his home and
waiting for him. But instead you exit out of the message, the screen
returning to a picture of Lithuania and you smiling during a picnic.
“How
. . . how could he do something like this? Telling me to come over only
to discover that he had to leave for another friend’s house! What am I?
A toy he can just call for when he feels like it!?” As you ranted, your
grip on your phone grew tighter and tighter till your knuckles were
white with the force you were holding the phone with.
Noticing
the whiteness, you quickly relaxed your hold on returned the phone to
its original spot in your pocket. You took a couple of deep breathes to
calm yourself. Getting angry now wouldn’t do you any good. You wanted to
recheck the text to make sure that your eyes weren’t playing tricks on
you, but you also knew that if you did you would go right back to
ranting.
“I
won’t be satisfied until I give that man a piece of my mind!” You
marched out of the kitchen into the living room a few doors away,
plopping down onto the couch with your arms crossed. “I’m going to wait
right here till he gets back.” Suddenly you deflate as an important
point pops into your mind. “But I don’t even know when he’s coming back .
. .”
You
fall onto your side, bringing your legs onto the couch. The silence in
the house was deafening, it felt like the whole world just stopped. You
played with some of your (h/c) hair to distract yourself, but that only
worked for a few minutes. Huffing, you take out your cell again and
locate your music on it.
“Maybe
some music would calm me down; it might even help time pass.” You press
the play button for your favorite song before setting the phone down
beside your head. Just as you predicted, the music calmed your nerves
and soon enough you were drifting off to sleep. The last thing you
thought about was how sad you were that Lithuania had abandoned you once
again.
Time Skip
A
loud crashing noise surprised you awake. You sluggishly opened your
eyes, rubbing at them to get the sleep out. The music that had been
coming from your phone before you fell asleep appeared to have been
turned off. When you checked the time you were shocked to find out that
you had slept for a good 7 hours.
You
remembered the way you had woken up and looked around the room. Nothing
had changed while you were sleeping, but you had this feeling that you
weren’t alone in Lithuania’s house anymore. It wasn’t just the feeling
but also the soft noises coming from the kitchen down the hall. Sitting
up, you try to flatten your bed head at the same time as straightening
out your clothes, which had gotten rumpled in your nap.
Another
crash came from within the kitchen, along with some struggling to be
quiet Lithuanian words. Your heart started to beat faster as you got off
the couch and gradually walked towards the kitchen. When you approached
the doorway, your heart was beating so quickly it felt like it was
going to leap out of your chest.
Instead
of striding right into the kitchen and telling off the country right
then and there, you nervously peek around the corner to locate
Lithuania. You did find him, his back to you and crouching down on the
ground. His brown hair looked like it had been combed nicely but then
moving around had made it get slightly messy. He had on a nice suit
which was getting wrinkles in it has he continued to crouch down,
picking up what looked like small potatoes.
“Lithuania?”
The crouching nation jumped at the sound of your voice, swiftly
spinning around to face the doorway. You stepped farther into the
kitchen, taking a closer look at his expression. His blue eyes were wide
in surprise, his mouth was in an ‘o’ shape, and a light blush covering
his cheeks. “I thought you were at America’s place for urgent business.”
Lithuania
stands up and brushes out the wrinkles in his suit. “I-I was, up until
an hour ago. The urgent business wasn’t as urgent as was said but
getting from there back took some t-time. Didn’t you g-get my text?”
You
frowned at his stuttering, moving even closer to the nation. “I did,
but I was already here so I decided to wait for you.” Lithuania blushed
even more the closer you got to him. “Guess I fell asleep while
waiting.” An awkward silence fell between the two of you. This wasn’t
going as you had planned.
“Um-.”
Lithuania and you both started speaking at the same time, and then
stopped at stared at the other. All of a sudden you two burst into a fit
of laughter.
“You go first, (y/n).” Lithuania waved a hand towards you, his laughter dying down to chuckles.
You
smiled at him slightly and responds with his own smile. But your smile
quickly fades as you speak. “Why did you call for me today?”
Lithuania’s smile also disappears. “Well . . . I wanted to . . . to talk to you.”
“Then
why did you leave before I came?” You stared into his eyes, your
expression absolutely serious. When you first took a step into the
kitchen, you were fiddling with the hem of your blouse but stopped as
you neared the nation. “The timing was just too perfect.”
“What
do you mean? America had called me moments before you were to arrive
and I had to go.” You couldn’t believe his words and shook your head
slowly, tears welling up in your eyes.
“Then
why have you been avoiding me the past few weeks.” Turning your head to
the side, you gaze out the window to avoid looking into Lithuania’s
shocked eyes. “Every single time I call or come over you’re never there!
And then today happened, are you just toying with me?!” By the end of
your outburst you were shouting.
Silence
fills the room once again as you take in deep breathes to calm
yourself. Your sight was still on the window as you heard footsteps
close in on you. Suddenly you felt one hand on your shoulder and another
on your cheek, turning your face so that you were looking back at
Lithuania.
“I’m
not toying with you, (y/n). It’s just . . .” Lithuania glances down at
the floor, the blush from before having doubled in color. Since it was
obvious that he wouldn’t be able to finish his sentence on his own, you
gave him a little push.
“Just
what?” The moment that the Lithuanian country touched you, your own
face flushed. It had been some time since the last time you were this
close to him. “Don’t start a sentence you can’t finish.”
You
could tell Lithuania was having a hard time with whatever he was trying
to say by the way he was opening and closing his mouth without saying a
word. “I-I’ve realized my f-feelings for you.” At his words you stared
blankly at him for a moment before stating your confusion in words.
“What do you mean your feelings for me?”
“W-well
. . .” Before you knew what was happening; Lithuania leaned in and
kissed your cheek softly. “I discovered that I had fallen in love with
you, (y/n).” You gaped at him, your face tomato red. He continued on
when he realized you couldn’t talk. “I l-learned of my feelings weeks
ago, that’s w-why I haven’t b-been able to face you. Whenever I
t-thought of seeing your beautiful face I-I would be blushing furiously
and I wouldn’t k-know what to do with myself.”
As
he kept on going on and on about you, stuttering the entire time, your
blush calmed down and you gazed at the country with love filled eyes. To
stop him from saying even more embarrassing things, you placed a finger
over his mouth and whispered. “I get it. You weren’t avoiding me or
toying with my feelings, you were just acting shy.” You giggled as
Lithuania smiled, grateful that you had understood him.
“What
a-about you?”’ You glanced at him curiously, tilting your head to side
slightly. “I told you my feelings, what about yours? How do you feel
about me?”
His
inquiry made you smile, since it was such an easy question to answer.
It had been something you wanted to tell him for so long. “Of course, I
love you as well. I have for some time now.” You place your hands on
both sides of his face, leaning in closer. Lithuania realizes what you
were going to do and closes his eyes just as your lips touch his. The
kiss was amazing and you didn’t want it to stop, but when oxygen became a
problem you were forced to end the kiss. When you did, you smiled at
the country. “Now you won’t go avoiding me again, will you?”
“Never again.” Lithuania wraps his arms around you, pulling you nearer to him. “I’m keeping you close to me from now on.”
You giggle and snuggle into his chest, feeling his hand stroke your (h/c) hair. “I love you, Lithuania.”
“I love you too, (y/n).”
